BARONHAWK POITIER (DANCECLUB, DC)
Growing up in PG County, Maryland nestled between Baltimore and Washington, DC shaped life for artist Baronhawk Poitier. Listening to local radio stations breakdancing with local friends and sorting through records while working at The Record Exchange heavily influenced his pursuit of a career as a producer and DJ. He was recognized alongside mentor Kris Klayton aka Karizma/ Kaytronik with a grant from the National Endowment of Arts for electronic music production. Baronhawk expresses his passion for cultural preservation and education working with dance legends at the nonprofit culture and education project Urban Artistry, Inc. Poitier has also earned a name for himself within the LGBTQIA+ dance music community as a member of the unique queer artist collective The NeedlExchange “TNX,” who were known for their independent events and raves. He continues to tour as a solo artist while hosting events in DC as a co-creator and resident of the DJ collective “DanceClub”.
Baronhawk Poitier’s first EP “Temperado Tornado” (Honey Soundsystem Records) released in 2020, followed by remixes for notable artists Roxy “The Contagion” (Nervous Records), Chrissy “Give U XTC” (Cool Ranch Records) and OutputMessage “Our Love”. Singles, “Phickle Pickle” (Future Times), “There’s N000 Time” (None/Such Records) and “One Missed Call From A Tenderhawk” (Trax Only Records) are available on all platforms.
GEMYNII B2B FEMI THE FEMME (THE CONJURE, DURHAM)
Gemynii is a multidisciplinary artist, DJ, and curator whose work moves through sound, movement, and community. Rooted in North Carolina’s vibrant creative scene, she is known for crafting intentional nightlife experiences that celebrate Blackness, queerness, and collective joy.
As the curator behind acclaimed dance parties like HOUSE OF BLK and SPICE, Gemynii brings together intergenerational audiences through music that transcends genre — blending house, disco, funk, R&B, and global rhythms into immersive, soulful soundscapes. Her sets are grounded in storytelling, spirituality, and liberation, offering space for dancers to connect, release, and remember themselves.
Beyond the booth, Gemynii’s work expands into community building, visual art, and cultural organizing. Whether spinning for intimate gatherings or large-scale events, she centers intention, representation, and energy that transforms the dance floor into a site of healing and celebration.
JERMAINIA (THE DAY PARTY, RALEIGH)
DJ Jermainia immersed himself into the house music scene when he started throwing dance parties in Chapel Hill, NC in 2006. Now a resident of Raleigh, NC, he favors supplying his own events with a mix of handbag house, deep house and soulful house.
Jermainia is inspired by TEED, Masters at Work, Duke Dumont and Mark Knight. He’s opened for Cakes da Killa, MikeQ and Honey Luv and has played all around major Raleigh-Durham venues from Kings to The Fruit to Local 506.
