It can be tricky to communicate the full potential of your discoveries without spilling the secret sauce. Join us for sessions on learning the tricks of the trade in preparing a non-confidential deck and executive summary. Experts of the craft will share practical tips on becoming more effective in communicating your story to Angel investors and VCs, increasing your chances of successful fundraising. Scott will also share his insights on attracting venture capital

Nicola Urbani | Investment Director, Emerillon Capital
A management and investment professional with a passion for innovation and broad experience (14 years) in venture capital investment in life sciences and cleantech industries. Worked in two different venture capital Fund managers with a total committed capital of over $400M: GeneChem management (with 4 different Funds targeting different stages and indications: GeneChem Technologies,GeneChem Therapeutics, AgeChem Financial, and AmorChem) and Emerillon Capital. Served on numerous Boards and helped shape company strategies, C-level management teams and Board committees. Active involvement in the growth of several companies developing therapeutics through human clinical trials, and participated in numerous financing rounds with top tier Canadian and international venture capital Funds. Led several in- and out-licensing deals in life sciences and cleantech. A focused, high-energy individual able to solve complex problems and achieve goals in challenging environments. Prior to joining Emerillon, Nicola was VP Commercialization at the McGill-affiliated Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, where he was responsible for technology transfer and the creation of companies. Nicola has a PhD in molecular genetics from McGill University and an MBA from Université du Québec à Montréal.
