Monthly Tree Tours
Overview
Nearly 3,500 trees make up Governors Island’s canopy, providing essential benefits for Island visitors and all New Yorkers: they capture and remove pollution from the air, help mitigate climate change by absorbing and sequestering carbon dioxide, reduce runoff and other flooding during weather events, help cool our communities, and foster critical biodiversity. Join the Governors Island Nature team for free guided tours, held the first Saturday of each month through October.
Join us for a special #ClimateWeekNYC tree tour on Friday, September 26, at 11:45AM
October's tree tour will be presented as part of Forest for All NYC's City of Forest Day.
Please note: these tours are held entirely outdoors on Governors Island. Please dress with the weather in mind.
