Monthly Hiking Club - Ladybug Trail to King Mountain Loop Trail, Larkspur

Enjoy the Bay Area's spectacular outdoors with the Manny's Hiking Club. Explore local trails and connect with fellow nature lovers on 4-8 mile mostly moderate difficulty hikes around the Bay. Good physical fitness with the ability to hike a minimum of 5 miles that may include hilly terrain required.

Our route: We will hike the Ladybug Trail to the King Mountain loop trail in Larkspur in Marin County. This hike features redwood forests along Larkspur Creek with a gentle climb up King Mountain, approximately 4.5 miles with a 700 ft. elevation gain. Our ascent will be rewarded with soaring views across Marin to San Francisco.

Meet location: We will meet at the Dawn Falls Trailhead at the end of Madrone Ave. in Larkspur.

Details: Hike is about 90% shaded, with street parking and public transportation available. There are no bathroom facilities in the King Mountain open space preserve. However, there are public restrooms at the public park on Madrone Ave. before you reach the King Mountain entrance. The hike will be canceled in the event of rain.

About Clubs @ Manny's - Manny's Clubs are discussion groups that convene once a month for 90 minutes to discuss a wide variety of topics. Led by community moderators, the groups are meant to bring together ideas and build community. Groups may exchange ideas, discuss specific works or decide to take a field trip. Actionable outcome is not required but is encouraged. Participants are asked to make a 6 month or yearly commitment. Moderators will be in direct contact with participants after subscription purchase.
