Monthly Hiking Club - BART to BART via Mt Davidson

Enjoy the Bay Area's spectacular outdoors with the Manny's Hiking Club. Explore local trails and connect with fellow nature lovers on 4-8 mile mostly moderate difficulty hikes around the Bay. Good physical fitness with the ability to hike a minimum of 5 miles that may include hilly terrain required.

BART to BART via Mt Davidson

Our route: From Glen Park BART, we’ll hike up Glen Canyon to the Mt Davidson summit, SF’s highest point. From there, we’ll visit stairway gardens and hidden lanes in Miraloma Park and Sunnyside, finishing at Balboa Park BART. Distance is about 5 miles.

Meet time: 10 a.m., rolling out at 10:05

Meet location: Glen Park BART plaza, corner of Diamond & Bosworth. Restroom inside.

Details: Terrain is a mix of pavement, well-maintained trails, and several stairways. Elevation gain is about 900 feet. The hike duration is approximately 2.5 hours. Bring water, snacks, and anything else you need. Restrooms are along the route. Heavy rain cancels.

Note: The hike is point-to-point. Both the start and finish are convenient to several transit lines.

About Clubs @ Manny's - Manny's Clubs are discussion groups that convene once a month for 90 minutes to discuss a wide variety of topics. Led by community moderators, the groups are meant to bring together ideas and build community. Groups may exchange ideas, discuss specific works or decide to take a field trip. Actionable outcome is not required but is encouraged. Participants are asked to make a 6 month or yearly commitment. Moderators will be in direct contact with participants after subscription purchase.
