Resilience Reimagined — Six-Month Leadership Series (January–June 2026)

Join the Dean’s Virtual Speaker Series for a six-month journey through cutting-edge emergency management topics, co-hosted by Dean Alexander Siedschlag and Emergency, Disaster and Global Security Studies Department Chair Tanya Corbin, and featuring alumnus Dennis Caliyo, Emergency Disaster Services Director, The Salvation Army – Golden State Division. Each monthly session includes expert briefing plus hands-on engagement such as case studies, simulations, or role plays. Participants who complete all six sessions will earn 0.6 CEUs.

Month 1 — Military Precision in Civilian Chaos: DSCA (Defense Support of Civil Authorities) in Action

Kick off the series by exploring how the military supports civilian authorities during crises. Learn DSCA fundamentals, review real disaster case studies, and take part in a simulated joint operations center exercise.
