Monologue of a Bobblehead Monster - Art Gallery Reception
Overview
Adeline’s work celebrates the demonstration of unbridled imagination. Each one of her creations offer a different universe with its own story and distinctive color palette. She is fascinated by the creative liberty that very young children or naïve painters have. Her paintings unfold a narrative in which the tale is told through a language of dreamlike delirium, inspired by folk art and ancient symbols with the plague doctor being a recurring figure.
The multiple characters she brings to life in her paintings are always acting together. Sometimes it can be by the interconnections of their gazes or things that they are offering to each other. And the landscape is often full of living creatures who play around. She uses those various associations to build a story. And what she tells about comes from various sources. It is sometimes very intimate and biographical: Like her splitting headaches or the spiders she sees every evening in her hall. Or it can be from old science-fiction books, which she has always loved deeply and reads a lot.
