The Monash Qiskit Fall Fest 2025 is part of a global initiative led by IBM Quantum to bring quantum computing education to students across the world. Hosted by Monash students and supported by Quantum Australia, this event introduces you to the core principles of quantum mechanics in computing, gives you hands-on coding experience, and connects you with professionals shaping the future of quantum technology.
Who Should Attend
This event is ideal for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or IT who are curious about quantum computing.
To get the most out of the sessions, you should have:
- Basic experience in Python or another programming language
- Your own laptop to run Qiskit notebooks (Wi-Fi and setup instructions provided)
No previous experience in quantum computing is required — everything will be introduced from first principles!
What You’ll Do
- Get a clear foundation: qubits, gates, measurement, entanglement.
- Go hands-on: write and run your first quantum circuits on a real IBM Quantum device.
- Hear applied perspectives: guest seminar (IBM) + PQC mini-lecture (Monash).
- Discover local activity: “Quantum at Monash” showcase.
- Wrap with a fun quiz (prizes!).
Schedule at a Glance
- Morning: Quantum & Qiskit 101 → Fundamentals Lab (hands-on)
