Overview

Empowering girls 8–16 at Exchange Beauty Spa: learn braiding, creativity, confidence, entrepreneurship & career basics.

The Exchange Beauty Spa Shop – Youth Braiding Sessions

The Exchange Beauty Spa Shop in Stone Mountain, Georgia offers engaging braiding sessions for young girls ages 8–16. Participants do not need to bring anything—all materials, including mannequin heads, hair, and tools, are provided on-site. Our well-trained instructors bring many years of experience and specialize in a wide variety of braiding techniques, as shown below.

These classes teach the fundamentals of hair braiding while promoting creativity, self-confidence, entrepreneurship, and professionalism. Students also receive lunch during the session.

Classes are held every other Saturday from 2–6 PM. Please register your child for the next session using the calendar on the following page. Our previous classes have been exciting, energetic, and highly rewarding, and we look forward to welcoming more young girls eager to learn and grow in this inspiring environment.

Classic Braids

  • Three-Strand Braid – Basic braid, often used as a foundation.
  • French Braid – Hair braided close to the scalp, adding strands as you go.
  • Dutch Braid – Similar to French braid, but strands cross under instead of over for a raised effect.
  • Fishtail Braid – Intricate braid using two sections of hair.
  • Waterfall Braid – Braided along the head, letting sections fall like a waterfall.
  • Rope Braid / Twists – Two strands twisted around each other.

Protective & Natural Braids

  • Box Braids – Hair sectioned into square parts and braided individually.
  • Cornrows – Hair braided very close to the scalp in straight lines or patterns.

We are parents and mentors united with a passion for investing in our children’s futures. At The Exchange Beauty Spa Shop, we work together to introduce young girls to the fundamentals of beauty skills while also teaching confidence, creativity, leadership, and professionalism. Our goal is to encourage and motivate them to see themselves as future leaders and entrepreneurs, prepared to succeed in whatever career path they choose.
