Modular Origami Series
Overview
Join the Seattle Universal Math Museum for our Origami Platonic Solids series, designed for families with children ages 7+ or individual adults with beginner to intermediate origami experience! Led by origami expert Rona Gurkewitz, participants will explore the geometry and mathematics of the Platonic Solids through the art of Modular Origami.
This series will take place over the course of 5 Saturday sessions, 1 per month, from August to December. All materials are provided.
Participants can register for all 5 sessions or drop-in sessions.
Sessions Schedule & Projects:
Each session runs from 10am - 12pm.
- Session 1 - August 16: Cubes
- Session 2 - September 20: Octahedra
- Session 3 - October 18: Tetrahedra
- Session 4 - November 15: Dodecahedra
- Session 5 - December 20: Icosahedra
Children must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver, who will be encouraged to participate as well to create a shared learning experience.
