About this event

After you have completed our core career workshops and are preparing to interview for the job you want, come increase your skills, preparedness and confidence in a simulated interview session with a Human Resources professional which concludes with feedback on strengths and weaknesses and ways to improve your interview skills.

Registrants are encouraged to prepare:

  • Include a specific job listing in your registration so our interviewer is able to prepare;
  • Dress to impress: business casual or professional dress is recommended;
  • Research your field and prepare answers for the usual interview questions;
  • Be able to express your skills and abilities in relation to the position;
  • Practice answering questions in the mirror or with a friend.

Please be sure to include a brief description of or link to a job listing that you are interested in AND to email a resume (and cover letter and / or other supporting materials if you wish for them to be considered and evaluated) to frebiz@cumberlandcountylibraries.org at the time of registration. These submissions will help to create a very realistic simulation.

Plan to arrive 5-10 minues before your scheduled start time. Your interview will begin with introductions, and you will have an opportunity to discuss the goals of the mock interview. The interview will last about 30 minutes, and will include questions about the interviewee as well as situational, motivational and behavioral questions. The interview will end in a critique and will open to questions from the interviewee (you!).
