COMMUNITY ACTION IS COMMUNITY CARE!
The Feds just announced SNAP benefits won't be distributed in November because the idiots on Capitol Hill can't get their shit together and reopen the government. Roughly 11.1 MILLION Massachusetts residents rely on SNAP benefits for nutrition—most of those people are kids, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
SO. We're going to do what we can to help.
MONDAY 8/27
Bring CASH and help us stock the community fridge with nutritious food! We'll meet at Rebel Rebel at 5:30 and depart for Market Basket at 6:00—we'll break into groups with pre-made shopping lists and fill our carts, then load up Lauren's car and walk over to the fridge (approx. 15-min walk, you can drive if you have a car!) and load it up! BAM! Community care is easy! You CAN make a difference! The people have the power, and real change begins in your neighborhood.
