An Introduction to Amazon Managed Blockchain
Amazon Managed Blockchain (AMB) is a fully managed service that makes it easier to build scalable blockchain networks using popular open source frameworks, including Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum. AMB includes several features and enhancements beyond those provided by the open-source projects on which it is based. It supports public and private blockchain options, each of which favors different use cases. We review reference architectures outlining example applications on both Hyperledger Fabric and Ethereum. In this lecture, you will also hear several customer success stories building solutions on Amazon Managed Blockchain.
Speaker Bio
Carl Youngblood has over 24 years of professional experience as a software engineer. Afflicted with a severe case of 'fomo', Carl regularly consumes inordinate amounts of tech-related news in search of new ideas that might be passing him by. This borderline unhealthy level of curiosity led him to discover the Bitcoin whitepaper in early 2010, which described a decentralized borderless payment system that promised to disrupt the financial industry and possibly even challenge central banks and sovereign nations. After a sad lesson in the importance of backing up his wallet, Carl went on to participate in the early Ethereum meetups in London, and has been working with blockchain technology full-time for the past four years. As CTO of Mainframe, Carl helped to launch a platform for decentralized app development. As co-founder of Blockscale, LLC, Carl helped to launch and maintain the Tezos third-generation blockchain network. For the past two years Carl has been a blockchain specialist at Amazon Web Services. Carl has a bachelor's degree in Portuguese from Brigham Young University and a master's in Computer Science from the University of Washington.
