This virtual workshop for K-12 and community educators will center around beginning hands-on exploration and practice with creative computer science education using Scratch, a free, easy-to-learn, powerful language for creating games, stories and animations. This interactive training experience will guide participants through getting started with ways to integrate Scratch across content areas, equitable teaching practices within computer science, and strategies for encouraging K-12 students to create, collaborate and problem solve through the Scratch coding platform.
Format
This online course will incorporate a mix of both synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities. There will be a live event each morning, as well as optional virtual "office hours" for additional support during the day. Each day will include self-guided lessons, examples and projects to be completed at your own pace to help you learn the Scratch platform. All live sessions will be recorded and available for review at any time to assist with a self-paced completion of the course. Participants will gain lifetime access to course content and resources.
