Systematic screening for health-related social needs is more deeply rooted in health and human service systems across the country. This holds great promise for health equity advancement since so many health-related social needs have remedies under current law and public policy. Moreover, screening data will reveal population-level needs that can steer communities to systems and policy change strategies that impact structural social dimensions of health (SDOH).
