Learn how to bring lighting cues to life in a live performance setting during this hands-on Lightboard Programming workshop, part of Miami Light Project’s Technical Fellowship Program for emerging South Florida-based technicians.

Led by Luisa Suarez, this session offers an introduction to lighting console programming—a vital skill for backstage technicians working in theater and live events. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how lighting designers’ visions are translated into programmable cues and executed in real-time performances.

About the Technical Fellowship Program:The Technical Fellowship Program by Miami Light Project is designed to support early-career technicians in South Florida by offering hands-on training and professional experience in technical theater. The program includes:

  • Workshops in Lighting, Audio, Video, Stage Management, Finance, and more
  • Free access to professional demos and networking opportunities
  • 40 hours of supervised job training and mentorship backstage at live events
  • Paid internship opportunities for participants who complete training
