Do I need to register in advance?

Advanced registration is required to participate in one of our MLK Day of Service projects.

Can youth participate?

4 of our service locations are able to accommodate minors (aged 17 and under). The remaining sites are unable to accommodate minors and state 18+ in their ticket name.

Question 3

Can I register for my group?

Accepted Answer

Yes! If you want to volunteer alongside a specific group of people, only one person should complete the form for each group. MRISJ will follow up with the identified point of contact for names and email of individual volunteers.

Question 4

How will I get to/from my service location?

Transportation will be provided by BSU to and from the BSU campus to the service project location. Please let us know when completing your registration  if you would rather drive your own car to and from the service project location. The address and directions will be provided at the event.

How do I choose my service project?

Each service project has its own ticket. To register, choose the appropriate number of tickets for the service location you wish to volunteer at. If you are registering for a group, be sure to select tickets for everyone in your group (ex. for a group of 3, be sure to choose 3 for number of tickets)

Why won't it  let me register for the service site I want?

Space is limited for each of our service locations, it may be that the location you are looking at is full or does not have enough tickets remaining to accommodate your group size. If this is the case, you will need to choose a different service project.

Question 7

What time will my service project end?

Accepted Answer

Each service project will wrap up at different times dependent on location. All projects should conclude by 1:30pm. Volunteers riding on transportation provided by BSU will return to campus by 2:30pm.

I need to request an accessibility accommodation, how can I do this?

To request an accessibility accommodation, please email us at mrisj@bridgew.edu by Monday, January 8th. If you are planning to request an accommodation, please be sure to indicate this in your registration form.

Is there a deadline to register?

Accepted Answer

Registration will close at 12pm on January 18th. If you would like to register past that time, please email mrisj@bridgew.edu for assistance as space permits. Spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis with volunteer capacities varied by location.
