Event description

Description

What would MPavilion look like if it was co-designed by kids using Minecraft?

This workshop gives M Kids aged 8-15 a chance to bring their creative ideas to life by re-imagining what MPavilion could look like using the video game, Minecraft, to build a virtual model.

Launching at MPavilion, this event brings to life a feature story from Mini Matters, the first ‘mini’ print publication of Matters Journal, www.mattersjournal.com

Based on the ‘Block by Block’ program developed by UN-HABITAT and Mojang, this event explores news ways of using technology to engage communities, in this case kids, in co-designing public spaces.

If you have kids, or mates with kids who love Minecraft, come along to our interactive workshop facilitated by some highly experienced tech-savvy big kids and build your own virtual MPavilion.

Big kids who loves Minecraft, architecture, engineering and design are also invited to join in as online facilitators as we re-design MPavilion Minecraft style!

After the event, Monash University's Department of Materials and Science Engineering will 3D print the designs created during the workshop, so stay tuned!

  • Workshop from: 10am - 12:30pm
  • Limited to 24 participants
  • Free event, but bookings are strongly encouraged. Drop ins welcome too!
