Miniature Insect Diorama Class
Overview
Make your Own Miniature Insect Diorama
Come join me and learn to make your very own miniature insect diorama with Seymour Vergara, aka The Beetle's Dilemma. This hands-on workshop will guide you through the process of creating a tiny world for a pair of insect friends to inhabit. No experience necessary!
Students can choose between two options - a diorama with a ouija board or one with glow-in-the-dark mushrooms.
All of the materials for your one-of-a-kind creation will be provided, including a selection of several different insect species and a miniature ouija board or polymer clay to make tiny mushrooms for use in composing your dioramas.
Seymour will teach you how to position and pin an insect then guide you through the process of assembling your diorama. While all of the elements for the piece are included, you are welcome to bring a small charm or token (about the size of a quarter) if you would like to use something personal in your diorama instead of the ouija board or mushrooms.
The completed dioramas are approximately 3" tall.
The event will be held at 67 West St suite 319, so mark your calendars and get ready to craft something truly unique!
Seymour has been creating tiny worlds populated with insects for the better part of a decade. A self-taught beetle enthusiast, her work has been shown at multiple gallery shows in NYC and beyond.
