Overview
Welcome to the Mindful Resilience ~ Shinrin Yoku Offering!
Connect with community at Veterans Park on December 6, 2025 at 1:00 PM for a rejuvenating experience in nature. Embrace the healing power of Shinrin Yoku as we practice mindfulness and connect with the natural world around us.
This event is a fantastic opportunity to recharge your mind, body, and spirit. Leave behind the stresses of daily life and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the park.
(Eastern Time)
During this restorative immersion into the natural world, you'll be guided through a Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) and mindfulness practice that will include the following:
• Mindful Meditation Walk: We will wander at a leisurely pace, paying attention to the feeling of the earth beneath our feet.
• Sensory Engagement: You will be invited to notice the intricate details of fallen leaves, the sound of the wind, the scent of the earth, and the feeling of the air on your skin.
• Quiet Reflection: The experience includes periods of quiet stillness and opportunities for personal contemplation, allowing space for inner peace and self-discovery.
• Disconnect to Reconnect: This is a technology-free zone, encouraging a true digital detox to fully immerse in the natural rhythm.
• Fireside Tea Ceremony: Fostering a sense of community and connection. A beautiful opportunity to cozy up and share your experience and heart with others.
What is Shinrin Yoku?
Shinrin Yoku is not a vigorous hike or a nature walk for exercise. It is a slow, intentional practice of "bathing" in the atmosphere of the forest, mindfully using all five senses to absorb the natural environment. This mindful immersion has been scientifically shown to lower stress hormones (cortisol), reduce blood pressure, boost the immune system, and improve mood, making you more resilient to daily stressors.
