mindful mending book club
Overview
this community event is hosted by Release Restore Redefine Counseling, LLC.
welcome to mindful mending book club— for the month of March, we are reading the second half of My Grandmother's Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Mending of Our Bodies and Hearts by Resmaa Menakem!
join us for transformative community discussions on examining white-body supremacy in America from the perspective of trauma and body-centered psychology.
for this series of book club meetings, we meet on Sundays virtually via Zoom over four weeks to explore themes on intergenerational trauma, racialized wounding, and somatic healing.
in addition to our meetings, you will have access to a private Facebook community and WhatsApp group to engage virtually in discussions surrounding the book and its contents.
as human beings, we are meant to heal in community; in this book club setting, we encourage a brave space to voice the thoughts, emotions, and sensations that may come up throughout your reading of the book.
in community, feel free to share your thoughts or listen to others, while also connecting with fellow book lovers.
disclaimer: mindful mending book club does not constitute nor serve as a substitution for therapy.
in community, we heal together.
