The essence of Tergar’s Path of Liberation is cultivating insight into the nature of mind. Critically, this nature is emptiness. During this retreat, Mingyur Rinpoche will introduce the second pointing out instruction which elucidates this truth. He will also give a refuge ceremony and bestow the White Tara empowerment. An embodiment of enlightened activity, White Tara serves as the principal deity of the Tergar lineage. Moreover, during this retreat you will receive instructions on the Nectar of the Path and traditional Ngondro practices.

Why should I attend?

This program represents the core of Mingyur Rinpoche’s Path of Liberation Training, providing further instructions on the nature of mind. These teachings and practices are profoundly transformative and put you directly in touch with your true nature.

What will I learn?

The techniques taught in this programme, and associated benefits, are the most profound in the Buddhist tradition. In this program, you will:

receive the second pointing out instruction
receive the White Tara empowerment and basic instructions
learn how to sustain the recognition of nature of mind throughout your life
continue to learn about the Ngondro and Nectar of the Path practices

Requirements for participation:

To have attended Path of Liberation Level 1. Completion of the corresponding practice requirements is NOT required in order to participate in this event. Path of Liberation 1 is being offered April 15-18, 2022 online. If you attend this Path of Liberation 1, you can attend this program.

The requirements for participation were set in consultation with Mingyur Rinpoche. In turn, we ask that you honour them. Thank you!

This is a non-residential retreat. You will need to secure your own accommodations if you need them and purchase meals. Please see the section below "Travel, Accommodation, and Other Local Information".

Ticket prices and discounts: Tergar is a non-profit organisation committed to making the benefits of meditation available to everyone. If the fees are a deterrent, please contact Portugal@tergar.org for a discount of 50% off of the reduced fee or to inquire about other options.

At Tergar Portugal we want to acknowledge that the continued rises in the Cost of Living throughout Europe is impacting on many of us financially. We have therefore made additional efforts this year to make these teachings accessible to as many people as possible.

As the cost of putting on these events is currently higher than ever however, we would like to invite those of you who are able to pay the sponsorship rate to please consider doing so.

Also, if you would like to help sponsor a particular part of the cost of putting on the retreat, such as travel, food and accommodation for the Lamas, venue hire, refreshments for participants, shrine flowers or technical equipment costs, then please contact us at portugal@tergar.org.

If you do choose to make a donation, please let us know your preference for which category of expenditure you would like to contribute towards. Please note that if we receive more sponsorship for any particular category than is required, you are agreeing for Tergar Portugal to use the donated funds to help offset any of the other costs related to the POL2 event.

COVID-19 policy for in-person events in 2022:

Please adhere to the local Covid restrictions that are in place at the time of the event.

Tergar also recommends that face masks are worn as an extra precaution to keep everyone safe.

What's the refund policy?:

We ask that you cancel at least 7 days in advance of the programme start date for a full refund. If you cancel between 7 days and the program start date, we will deduct an administrative fee of $50 from your refund.
If you need to cancel because of illness, between 7 days prior and the start of the event, we will provide a full refund.
To cancel prior to 7 days before the programme, sign into the EventBrite account that you created by registering (if you did not create a password during registration you will need to follow the prompts on the EventBrite website to do so). Inside your account, navigate to your tickets (top right), click the 'Request a Refund' button, and provide the information requested.
Please contact portugal@tergar.org if you need to cancel within 7 days before the program starts.

Schedule:

The program will begin on Friday, July 29th with check in at 1:00 p.m. and teachings starting at 2:00 p.m. Portugal Time. The programme will end at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31st. We will need to scan your ticket at check-in. You can either print the PDF ticket attached to your confirmation email or you can also download the Eventbrite App on your smart phone and show your e-ticket at the door.

Meals

As there are limited options available for restaurants and cafes in the surrounding area, there is the option of reserving meal boxes for Friday dinner, Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday lunch.

Meals are 12 Euros each, coming to a total of 48 Euros for all meals.
All meals are vegan and include water and fruit.

Se participou no retiro do Via da Libertação 1, de 9 a 12 de julho de 2021, ou se irá participar no que irá acontecer em abril de 2022, então está qualificado para participar presencialmente no retiro do Via da Libertação 2 com Mingyur Rinpoche em 2022, independentemente de ter concluído ou não o trabalho de casa.

Qual é a política de reembolso?

Pedimos que efectue o cancelamento com pelo menos 7 dias de avanço da data de início do programa para obter o reembolso completo. Se cancelar nos 7 dias antes do início do programa será deduzida ao reembolso uma taxa administrativa de 50$.

Se necessitar de cancelar a inscrição devido a doença nos 7 dias antes do início do programa, ser-lhe-á providenciado um reembolso por inteiro.

Para cancelar até 7 dias antes do início do programa, entre na conta EventBrite que criou ao inscrever-se (se ainda não criou uma palavra-passe na inscrição, terá de o fazer seguindo as instruções no site da EventBrite). O programa começará na sexta-feira, dia 29 de Julho, com check-in às 13:00 horas e com início dos ensinamentos às 14:00 horas, hora de Lisboa. O programa terminará às 18:00h de domingo, dia 31 de Julho. Precisaremos de digitalizar o seu bilhete no check-in. Poderá imprimir o bilhete em PDF anexo ao seu email de confirmação ou poderá em alternativa descarregar a App Eventbrite para o seu telemóvel e apresentar o seu bilhete electrónico à entrada.
