About this event

Join Xavier Bell, Ajoa Ayesu Greenlee, and Cierra Murphy-Higgs for a soulful conversation on the emotional and spiritual truths of Black breastfeeding—part of a venture underwritten by Promise Ventures’ Early Childhood Leaders of Color.

We’ll explore why breastfeeding hasn’t always been embraced in our community, how to navigate feeding after loss, the role of social media, family influences, and dismantling harmful stereotypes.

Together, we’ll honor ancestral strength, acknowledge generational harm, and reconnect to the deep wisdom that has always sustained us. Whether you’re breastfeeding, grieving, supporting someone, or simply showing up with love, you are welcome in this space to witness, be witnessed, and reclaim our sacred start.

Our nonprofit offers culturally attuned, culturally responsive information about women's and infant health. We champion the growth of a vibrant, virtual community where people learn directly from clinicians and advocates with shared lived experiences like their own.

Our health and wellbeing experts educate and support interventions that help mitigate the factors contributing to inequities in reproductive and child health for Black communities.
