Truman Center for National Policy hopes you will join us for an educational training entitled ‘Military 101’ on Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Austin from 9:00-11:00am at the Texas AFL-CIO Auditorium (1106 Lavaca Street).

Space is limited and all participants must register to participate.

Only 7.3% of living Americans have served in the U.S. military at some point of their lives, leaving most policymakers, advocates, and citizens with a dearth of knowledge about the military’s organization and culture. Taught by military veterans, this training covers everything from high-level questions about the values of those who serve in the military all the way down to details about the differences between various branches and ranks. Participants will walk away with a better sense of who serves in our military—and why they do it.

About the Truman National Security Project’s Texas Chapter

Founded in 2014, the Texas Chapter of Truman National Security Project’s brings together more than 40 members across three cohorts: Policy Fellows, Political Partners, and the Defense Council. The state-wide membership of the Chapter holds regular meetings and events, executes a localized recruitment and selections plan, welcomes new members through professional development and chapter events, and pursues advocacy, policy, communications, and political activities in concert with each other and Truman HQ.
