All activities will be accessible by transit (either bus or light rail), walking, bike or scooter. Please download the Transit app on your phone for bus & rail day passes as well as transit route planning. Please download Bird, Superpedestrian / Link, and Lime for bike and scooter rentals.

I want to stay with a Cleveland Shaper, but I'm allergic to cats and dogs - how do I let you know?

Accepted Answer

Choose the "Request Financial Assistance" ticket if you want to stay with a Cleveland Shaper - we ask people choose this ticket only if they have financial constraints as spots are limited. We ask you about indoor allergies in your order form, so we know to place you with a Shaper with no pets.

Am I able to stay with friends and family nearby in the greater Cleveland area?

Of course! We just ask that you still choose the Food Ticket option to help us pay for some meals and supplies throughout the weekend. Some meals will be completely covered by this ticket.

I will be coming in late Friday night - is this an issue?

Accepted Answer

No of course not! We ask you to approximate your expected arrival time in your order form. We will be sure a Cleveland Shaper greets you at The Hostel or their home at whatever time you arrive!

I will be coming in sometime on Saturday morning - is this an issue?

Accepted Answer

No of course not! We ask that you approximate your arrival time in your order form. We will be sure a Cleveland Shaper greets you at The Hostel or their home to drop off your luggage and direct you to our main venue!

What if I want to do some other activity on Sunday afternoon that isn't listed?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to explore Cleveland on your own! You will have a chance to do so late Friday night after our social, late Saturday night after our reception and social, and Sunday afternoon after our volunteer event. We are happy to give you recommendations!

How will I keep in touch with other Shapers throughout the weekend?

We ask for your cell phone number in the order from after you choose your ticket, because we plan to create a WhatsApp group for everyone to be able to easily communicate with each other over the weekend!

Is Sunday required? I need to get back to my city on Sunday afternoon.

Accepted Answer

Sunday is not required, but we highly encourage you to stay through the afternoon to volunteer and explore the city. We hope you choose an evening flight or later carpool option with others from your Hub, but we will assist with check-out during breakfast on Sunday morning for those that have to go!

What is the most affordable way to get to Cleveland from my city?

We have flights through Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, but also Amtrak and Greyhound come through here as well. Email us at shapers.cleveland@gmail.com and we will assist in your travel plans!

I plan to stay in Cleveland later and work remotely - is this okay?

Accepted Answer

Yes and we would love that! You will have to leave the Cleveland Hostel on Sunday as it is only used for group bookings. We will help find you the right accommodation. There are many good co-working spaces we can recommend, and we hope to hang out with you again during the week!
