About this event
In this short breathwork session, we’ll take a musical journey using deep, nourishing breaths to calm your nervous system, relax your body, and give your mind a well-deserved rest.
Agenda
- Arrive and Orientation(15 mins) – arrival, setting intentions, what to expect
- Breathwork Journey (15 mins) – guided music and conscious breathing
- Integration exercise (5 mins) - expressive art exercise to integrate insights
- Sharing Circle (25 mins) – optional reflection and integration
First-time breathers, please come at the start to get the orientation. All are encouraged and welcomed to stay for the sharing circle.
Benefits of Breathwork
Nervous System Reset: Stress constricts the breath and activates the sympathetic nervous system—the body’s fight-or-flight response. Over time, chronic stress can create a hypersensitive nervous system, making it harder to recover from everyday challenges. Conscious breathing helps reverse this pattern by signaling to the brain that you’re safe. This activates the body’s natural healing mechanisms, allowing the nervous system to regulate and the body to release stress hormones and relax.
Inner Peace and Clarity: Breathwork increases oxygen levels in the brain and raises blood pH, creating a more alkaline state. This helps calm the Default Mode Network—the part of the brain involved in self-referential thinking, rumination, and self-criticism. When this network quiets down, we gain greater access to clarity, insight, and a deeper sense of truth.

Bring an eye mask, a closed-lid water bottle, tissues, blankets, and pillows for comfort. Have a pen and paper or journal ready for the integration exercise at the end. Most importantly, make sure you're in a private space where you can relax without interruption.
