About this event

Family & Education • Education

Families are welcome, but the focus will be middle school students. Please reserve a ticket for everyone who will be touring.

We will touch on the rich history of the Allegheny Observatory and dive into important astronomy discoveries made here. We will give a brief introduction to some potential projects students can do with support from the local astronomical community and talk about the logistics of the high school club with 8th grade students.

If the weather is clear, we will use the historic 13" telescope to view Saturn and/or Jupiter.

Note that the building is only partially handicapped accessible. Pleaes email Allegheny-Observatory@Pitt.edu with any concerns.
