As children step into middle school, communication with parents can start to feel more complicated—and more important than ever.
"Middle Ground: Between What Was Said and What Was Felt" is a special event designed for middle schoolers and their parents to connect before the school year begins. Together, you'll explore tools to strengthen communication, better understand each other’s emotional worlds, and build confidence for the journey ahead.
Hosted by Artianna Singleton, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Tawana Wiggins, Leadership and Life Strategy Coach—who is also a former high school principal and middle school teacher, this event offers expert guidance with a personal touch.
Through a combination of interactive family sessions and breakout groups for parents and students, participants will:
- Learn practical strategies for expressing feelings clearly and respectfully
- Practice listening with empathy and responding with intention
- Gain tools to navigate social challenges and emotional changes in middle school
- Strengthen bonds through shared learning and meaningful dialogue
Whether your child is excited, nervous, or somewhere in between, this event will help you both find common ground—between what’s said and what’s truly felt.
Come ready to talk, laugh, learn, and grow together.
Additional information:
- Light lunch will be provided for all participants
- 1 ticket includes up to 4 family members. If you have more than 4 family members, there is an additional cost of $30 per member.
