Emotion support group is a term used for support groups for people that struggle with anger, anxiety, depression, grief, and ANY other emotional issue.

Who can benefit by joining an emotional support group?

Anyone can benefit from a support group. Here is a list (that is not all-inclusive) if you are struggling with: -Depression -Stress -Abuse -Rape -Grief -Anxiety -PTSD -Trauma - mood disorders -Mental or medial issue -Many more

What should you expect from a support group?

You should expect to feel less lonely, isolated, or judged. It will assist is reducing distress, depression, anxiety, or fatigue. It will allow you to speak openly and honestly about your feelings and help you improve skills used to cope with challenges.

How much does our support group charge?

Nada. Zip. Zero. Nothing. We offer this service to our community absolutely free of charge working solely on donations. Michelle's Safe Place is a non-profit that focuses on improving the lives of those in need. Most people do not have the means to pay for therapy but that's where we come in.

What will happen there?

We will start every session with a pledge to ourselves and our mental health. The leader of the group will share her story and she will open the floor up to those interested in sharing their story. Most classes will also include activities driving to help with self-growth and positivity.

Who leads the groups?

Each group will be lead by a member of "Michelle's Safe Place".

Do I have to talk?

No, absolutely not. Everyone may not be ready to speak right away or during their first class. There is no pressure for you to tell your story. This is about comfort. When you are ready to share, the floor will be yours.

Will there be snacks?

We will have light refreshments at each meeting.
