Come enjoy an evening of original songs and hymns from Michael Logsdon and Jacob Joseph in concert with supporting musicians Benjamin Thompson and Kaela McEvoy at the South Carolina Study Center on Friday, August 8th, at 6:30 PM. Coffee and dessert will be provided along with the music in an intimate acoustic setting. Admission is free, and donations and tips are appreciated but not required.
Michael Logsdon is a singer/songwriter in Charleston, South Carolina and worship director at Great Commission Baptist Church. He has a passion for writing hymns and songs for the church that combine theologically rich poetry with singable melodies, drawing inspiration from scripture, liturgies, and prayers of the saints from church history. He writes music in a variety of genres including folk, jazz, classical, and Celtic. He is an award-winning songwriter, with his hymns being featured in two Southern Baptist Church Music Conferences. Jacob Joseph is a pianist, songwriter, and amateur creative writer in Columbia, South Carolina. His goal as an artist is to create opportunities for encountering truth, goodness, and beauty honestly in the world that is, with full acknowledgement of its brokenness, and with real hope for its redemption. When he is not writing, reading, practicing, teaching piano lessons, or serving as music director at his church, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family, being out-of-doors, and playing Ultimate Frisbee.
