- RUN— The parking lot immediately (South) after William M. Powell bridge is ideal because We Run the Bridge. There are showers and restrooms available too. If you get the chance to park here, wait for us by the outdoor showers. If the lot is full, don’t sweat it.simply make your way to the next lot down (South) by PADL - Virginia Key Beach Club.
- SWIM— Drive to Bill Baggs Cape State Park. There is an entrance fee. Since the park opens at 8:00 AM expect a line at the entrance. Don’t be discouraged by the line, it moves quickly once they start letting people in. Once inside the park, follow the signs for the Lighthouse. The lighthouse is currently under construction, so park near the runway that leads to the sand. You will pass through a green area with trees, picnic tables, and showers. Continue on the path until you get on the sand. The lighthouse will be on your right side as you face the water. Look for us on the sand with the blue and white blanket as we gather for the swim portion to start. We begin with light breath work and stretching, then start swimming. The current creates a challenge for stronger swimmers to work on their speed and technique. Conditions are perfect for beginners to triathletes. Go with the flow of the current for a lighter swim, as needed. The water is shallow and the deepest we swim is along the line of the safety buoys 🛟
