Metaphor Corner is a peer-led, digital writers’ café made for writers, by writers. It aims to be a cozy, non-judgmental space that provides like-minded individuals with a space to create, share their stories & insight, and connect with others. We want this to be a space where writers, or those interested in writing, can gather and form community around the written word.

You do not need to share your writing or have experience writing to attend. We welcome active listening, so we welcome you to listen and hold space.

Join us via Zoom every third Wednesday of the month from 6:30pm-8:00pm EST. You will need to RSVP (register here on Eventbrite) to receive the Zoom access information (this information will be used for future gatherings as well).

This group is open to all LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies alike.

Comfort Agreement:

• We welcome folks of all skill types and experience levels.
• This group is confidential; we do not share others’ experiences or writing outside of this space.
• We respect each others’ opinions with an open mind, and we celebrate creative curiosity.
• While we do aim to respect others’ opinions, we do not tolerate bigotry, whether it is intended or not.
• We offer content warnings when discussing sensitive topics to give folks autonomy over what they engage with. We always encourage folk to meet their needs, including coping with triggers.
• We allow folks to share their work, if they would like to.
• We ask before giving feedback, and we do not offer critique or advice unless explicitly asked for by the person who shared.
