The human experience is ruffled with instances of great joy and unbearable hardship. Our happiest moments make us feel buoyant as we sail through the journey of Dunya whereas our afflictions shove us into the depths of sorrow, making us feel like we’ll never be dugout. It is in those moments where we tend to question Allah’s affection towards us. Does he still love me? When will it end? We forget that the greatest of all peace comes after we’ve experienced the bitterness of the world, that the distasteful afflictions prepare us for the piquant bliss.

The Prophet SAW’s life was swarmed with unbearable afflictions and countless trials. He was rejected by his closest friends and family, thrown out of his hometown and lost those who were dearest to him. However, his conviction in Allah SWT never wavered. His confidence in Allah’s love, Allah’s plan, Allah’s virtue never faltered for the Prophet SAW knew the veracity in His SWT’s oath “Your Lord has not Forsaken You.”
