1. Do I need any prior experience with needle felting?

Nope! This workshop is beginner-friendly. We’ll cover everything from the basics of needle felting to more advanced techniques like wet felting for durability.

2. What kind of sweater should I bring?

Accepted Answer

For the best results, bring a sweater that is at least 80% wool. Natural fibers felt best! Avoid loose-knit or overly stretchy sweaters, as they may not hold the felted design well.

3. What if I don’t have a wool sweater?

Accepted Answer

No worries! We can have a limited selection of thrifted wool sweaters available for purchase at the workshop. These are not included in the ticket price, so please plan accordingly.

4. Can I mend a sweater with a hole within the time of the workshop?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but with some limits. Holes must be ½” or smaller in diameter for needle felting to be effective. Larger holes may require sewing or patching beforehand.

5. What materials are provided during the workshop?

We’ll provide:
 ✔️ A variety of wool roving shades (reclaimed from our toy recycling program!)
 ✔️ Felting needles and mats
 ✔️ Felting tools and templates
 ✔️ Expert guidance

6. Will there be refreshments?

Yes! We’ll have a self-serve light beverage station and light snacks to keep you fueled while you craft. You’re also welcome to bring your own beverage.

7. How long is the workshop?

Accepted Answer

The workshop will run for approximately 1.5 - 2 hours, including time for instruction, hands-on felting, and some Q&A.

8. Is this workshop only for women?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! While we’re celebrating Women’s History Month and the tradition of mending, this workshop is open to all crafters, dog and cat mamas, and anyone who loves sustainable, hands-on creativity.

9. What safety precautions should I be aware of?

Accepted Answer

Needle felting involves sharp tools, so please handle them with care. We’ll provide safety instructions, but Gone to the Dogs is not responsible for any injuries. By attending, you agree to our liability waiver (see event description).

10. Can kids attend?

This workshop is recommended for adults and responsible teens (16+). If a participant under 18 attends, they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who assumes full responsibility for their safety.

11. Can I bring my dog?

We looove dogs! Well-socialized, friendly dogs are welcome to join, as long as you assume full responsibility for them during the workshop. Keep in mind that needle felting involves sharp tools, so pups should be comfortable settling in a designated spot while you work. If your dog is easily excitab

12. What is the refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Due to limited space and material costs, tickets are non-refundable within 24 hours of the event. If you can’t make it, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or we can credit you for our next event of equal value—just let us know in advance!
