Megan Lowe + Kevin CK Lo
Overview
An evening of two performances by Megan Lowe + Kevin Lo
Because You're Young
After the recent death of her best friend from high school, Megan Lowe revisits the sounds and spirit of their youth—metal, psychobilly, and punk rock—to create a wild, tender, and unpredictable performance. Blending aerial and site-specific dance, the work is chaotic yet deeply personal—funny, sad, virtuosic, and real. In a rare solo performance with glimpses of artifacts from her past, this intimate, one-time-only event invites audiences to witness memory in motion.
Second Nature
This dance is constructed of - starlight: grazing room edges, text: contouring predrawn lines, bookends: sonic coruscations preplayed & replayed, questions: how to unravel the market unconscious?, how do the theoreticians become sensuous?
Presented as part of Circo Zero's figure it out (a temporary commune)

Kevin CK Lo is a composer, choreographer, writer, and artist living on Chechenyo Ohlone land, born in New Zealand, with some time after that in Melbourne, Australia. In his compositions and improvisations for live performance and installation, he utilizes instruments, digital sound processing and generative programming environments to examine spatial and auditory sensitivities, topological structure and audience kinesthetic response while seeking to corrupt conventional compositional/performative/installative rationale. He co-organizes the Friday night poetry series at Tamarack, teaches and freelances in the arts, performs nationally and abroad.
