Join Casey Trees for our first neighborhood walk of 2023 and warm up while learning about winter characteristics of trees!

We'll start at the Casey Trees office at 3030 12th St NE, taking a walk around the neighborhood to appreciate the bark and buds of our local trees as they prepare for spring. Afterward, we'll stop by Right Proper where we invite you to linger for a chat, a beverage, or both!

No tree ID experience is necessary and we encourage all to attend. The newly updated Casey Trees species guides will be available as an add-on when you purchase your ticket online.

Where to meet: We will meet at Casey Trees HQ at 3030 12th St NE (corner of 12th and Irving NE)

What to expect: An easy walk among a variety of tree species, stopping to identify trees and connect with nature. Species guides will be available to use to identify trees.

Time: Check in will begin at 12:00 pm. The walk will last for approximately 45 minutes

What to bring: Warm, layered clothing, comfortable walking shoes, and a filled reusable water bottle.

Getting There:

We will meet at Casey Trees HQ at 3030 12th St NE (corner of 12th and Irving NE)

Public Transportation: The closest Metro station is the Brookland CUA Metro Stop, along the red line.

Biking: The location is accessible by bike. Bikes may be locked to nearby signs.

Parking: Free street parking is available nearby.

COVID-19 Policy: Casey Trees is now requiring all attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend our events. One of the following options will demonstrate proof of vaccination:

- A physical Center for Disease Control (CDC) Vaccination Card

- A digital copy/photo of a CDC Vaccination Card

- A COVID-19 Verification App such as VaxYes or CLEAR

Please bring a photo ID and one of the above listed options to provide proof of vaccination. You may not be asked to show proof of vaccination during our outdoor event, however you may need to show proof of vaccination to use any indoor facilities.
