Meet your Neighbors at Bella Terra Stables
Overview
Meet Your Neighbors
About the Program
Meet Your Neighbors is a new way for members of the Remake Learning network to open their doors and welcome others in. These gatherings build community by showcasing incredible work happening across our region—and by creating space for authentic connection and shared learning.
Each Meet Your Neighbors event follows a simple, consistent flow:
- Welcome from the host organization
- Tour of the space to see learning in action
- Guided Activity that brings the host’s work to life
- Shared Meal with time for conversation and networking
Host Spotlight: Bella Terra Stables
Bella Terra Stables is a nonprofit organization in Murrysville dedicated to strengthening the connection between humans, horses, and the natural environment. Founded in 2020 by Amber Power and Ilse Eisele, the 26-acre farm offers a peaceful, restorative setting just outside Pittsburgh.
Through equine-assisted learning, Bella Terra Stables provides children, families, and groups with transformative, hands-on experiences that foster self-awareness, communication, and emotional growth. Horses serve as powerful partners in these sessions—mirroring human emotions and guiding participants toward insight and healing.
Beyond its human-centered work, Bella Terra Stables also provides purposeful retirement for older or injured horses, giving them renewed purpose as co-facilitators in therapy and learning. The organization’s care extends to the land itself, as it restores and revitalizes the farm’s natural ecosystem to support the harmony of humans, horses, and wildlife.
Who Should Attend
We use the word “educator” broadly. Meet Your Neighbors is for anyone shaping learning in our region—teachers, librarians, youth workers, nonprofit leaders, civic partners, industry collaborators, and more. If you care about helping people learn, you belong here.
Why It Matters
Learning doesn’t just happen in classrooms—it happens everywhere. Across our region, there are countless places where learners engage in hands-on, meaningful experiences. Some are familiar, like schools and libraries. Others might surprise you: a horse stable where young people develop leadership skills, or a repurposed school building that now houses a TV studio broadcasting STEM learning across the globe.
Meet Your Neighbors shines a light on these diverse spaces. By opening doors and welcoming others in, the program helps our region discover and celebrate the full range of opportunities for learning.
