Welcome to the Meditation Foundations Workshop at the Garden of Healing Yoga & Wellness Center! This experience is in person and online.
Meditation can feel overwhelming for many people. Some struggle with racing thoughts, others have tried only one method that never quite fit, and many believe they “can’t meditate.” The truth is, meditation has many doorways — and with the right guidance, everyone can find a practice that works for them.
Meditation Foundations: Many Paths to One-Pointed Focus introduces participants to different approaches to meditation, including breath awareness, seated stillness, walking meditation, and vocal mantra (japa). The aim is not to make the mind perfectly blank, but to offer practical tools for focusing attention, calming the nervous system, and cultivating clarity; to carve out a space where the mind can rest, and where the body can have a break from the constant biochemical messages of a busy mind.
This workshop provides an opportunity to sample various methods in a supportive environment, so you can discover the one that feels natural for you. You’ll leave with one practice to carry forward for 40 days — a steady anchor you can return to whenever life feels scattered or overwhelming.
