To excel in our roles, interpreters must develop a well-rounded understanding of medical conditions and remain current with evolving terminology across healthcare settings. This dynamic and collaborative workshop is designed to deepen knowledge, sharpen skills, and support interpreter wellness. During this session, participants will:

• Engage in an interactive review of commonly used medical abbreviations and acronyms beginning with the letter “R,” collaborating to reveal their full meanings and clinical context.
• Practice breaking down complex medical terms into their foundational components—prefixes, roots, and suffixes—to improve interpretation accuracy and fluency when encountering unfamiliar vocabulary.
• Discuss the critical role of self-care in sustaining performance and explore practical, evidence-based strategies for maintaining personal well-being.
