Interested in eating the Mediterranean way, but not sure where to start? NC Cooperative Extension can help!

About this event

The Med Instead of Meds class series will help you Go Med by exploring 7 simple steps to eating the Med Way. Learn Med tips, life hacks, and recipes that will help you eat the Med Way every day. Great tasting and good for you! The simple, delicious, and satisfying Med Way of eating will keep you coming back for more.

Six online sessions are provided once a week and include:

  • Session 1 - May 4th: Intro to the Med Way
  • Session 2 - May 11th: Change Your Protein
  • Session 3 - May 18th: Swap Your Fats & Snack on Nuts and Seeds
  • Session 4 - May 25th: Eat More Vegetables & Fruits
  • Session 5 - June 1st: Make Your Grains Whole
  • Session 6 - June 8th: Rethink Your Sweets

Weekly sessions are hosted and recorded via Zoom. Recordings will be shared with participants. Zoom links will be emailed to participants 1 - 2 days prior to each session.

About the Instructor: Linda J. Minges, MPH, RD, LDN

Minges is the Family & Consumer Science Agent with NC Cooperative Extension - Gaston County Center. She is a registered dietitian and provides community programs related to local foods, chronic disease management, nutrition, food safety, and wellness. Minges has been serving the residents of Gaston County for more than 18 years and is passionate about working with older adults and local foods.
