Measuring the cost of integrating refugees on the Nordic labour market - Sp...
Wed, April 26, 2017, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM CEST
Since the mid-eighties, most of the Nordic countries have received large numbers of refugees from a broad spectrum of countries. Previous studies have shown that the speed of labour market integration of immigrants from non-Western countries is slow. This is increasingly troublesome given the current refugee situation.
In this special issue of the Nordic Economic Policy Review, renowned economists have examined the fiscal effects of slow labour market integration, and how labour market participation differs between different groups of refugees and over time. The researchers have also identified possible explanations and policy implications.
The launch event provides an opportunity to hear about the findings in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and discuss the issues from a policy perspective.
