Lace up your running shoes! NYC-based independent bookstore McNally Jackson and Tracksmith — an independent running brand focused on "the amateur spirit"— have launched a monthly run club for the literary minded!
For the October run, we will meet at the Tracksmith SoHo Pop-up (262 Mott St., New York, NY 10012). Doors will open at 9am, and we will stretch at 9:15. At 9:30am, we will head out on a run to the McNally Jackson Seaport store (approximately 3 miles). Afterwards, grab a coffee and spend some time with us at the store!
This month, we will be joined by author Adrienne Raphel
Adrienne Raphel is the author of Thinking Inside the Box: Adventures with Crosswords and the Puzzling People Who Can't Live Without Them (Penguin Press), a New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice, as well as the poetry collections Our Dark Academia (Rescue Press) and What Was It For (Rescue Press), winner of the Black Box Poetry Prize. Her essays, poetry, and crossword puzzles appear widely, including in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Paris Review, The Atlantic, Poetry, and many other publications. Raphel is the recipient of the Visiting Fellowship at the American Library in Paris and a Writer-in-Residence Fellowship at the James Merrill House. She teaches at CUNY Baruch and serves on faculty at the Mountainview MFA and the Writer's Foundry; she also is a mentor with the Periplus Collective.
