May 2026 ADHD PGL: The Challenges of ADHD in the Sandwich Generation.
Overview
According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary the Sandwich Generation is defined as "a generation of people who are caring for their aging parents while supporting their own children." Now let's add ADHD into the mix at different ages and stages of life. This demographic can face specific challenges when living with ADHD due to the need to care for both younger and older relatives at the same time.
Our discussion will focus on:
- What are the stressors faced in this unique family dynamic?
- What support systems need to be in place?
- What will be the role of professionals in treating this growing ADHD family structure?
Check out the ADDitude webinar “Squeezed in the Sandwich Generation: How to Manage ADHD in Yourself, Your Children, and Your Parents by ADHD Expert Danna McDonald RMFT-SQ for more information. Slides for the webinar are also available from the same link.
