Max Boiko is a graduate of the Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program (’14) and the Manhattan School of Music (’18). Since moving to New York City, Max has become a dynamic presence in the music scene, performing with a wide array of celebrated artists including Steve Miller, Julianne Hough, and Barry Manilow.
Max has performed and recorded with the GRAMMY-winning 8-Bit Big Band, and is also a longtime sideman in Patrick Bartley’s band, with whom he has both performed and recorded extensively. His appearances include venues such as Frederick P. Rose Hall, Birdland, Caramoor Jazz Festival, Ornithology, Smalls, and more. In 2025, Max signed with renowned record label GameChops to release Live from Pallet Town, a successful debut that marked the begining of his recording career as a bandleader. He also co-founded VGM Jam Sessions NYC, a thriving monthly concert and jam session that consistently sells out and brings together a vibrant community of fans and musicians.
Deeply passionate about the interplay between traditional and modern music, Max seamlessly blends the rich history of his art form with the innovative sounds of contemporary media. His unique musical identity reflects a dedication to honoring the past while boldly embracing what’s to come.
