• Types of carbon markets: compliance (e.g. EU ETS, China ETS) and voluntary (e.g. Verra, Gold Standard) markets
• Understand the carbon credit lifecycle
• Introduction to common carbon project types: nature-based, renewable energy, waste management
• Key standards and registries: Verra (VCS), Gold Standard, ACR, ART
• Understanding risks, greenwashing & integrity issues
• Case study: REDD+ or Renewable Project Flow

Part 2: Carbon Credit Investment: Strategy for Corporate Buyers

• Why companies buy carbon credits: net-zero targets, SBTi, regulatory & brand drivers
• How to choose the right credit: technology type, geography, co-benefits, price vs. quality
• Understanding carbon credit ratings and due diligence: how to read third-party assessments (Sylvera, BeZero)
• How to avoid greenwashing: claims, standards, retirement transparency
• Where to buy carbon credits: platforms (HKEX Core Climate, CIX, CTX)
• Develop a carbon credit procurement strategy: portfolio mix, vintage, jurisdiction risk
• Case exercise: Matching credit types to buyer profiles
