“...sophisticated folkies” - Cambridge Day

“...genre-fusing ensemble" - Culture Spot-Montgomery County

"A mix of Purcell and Bob Dylan played on various instruments, including an accordion and a viola da gamba. Kinda crazy, but it works." - WPFW radio

"No two shows are alike, but the performances guarantee an eclectic mix of traditional pieces from composers of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, covers from modern folk singers such as Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and the Grateful Dead, as well as original compositions that pull from the meld of the traditional and the classical." - North Potomac Times

"…the audience experiences an eclectic performance that draws from each artist’s training and background." - inGaithersburg Magazine

The collective evolved from a series of concerts at the University of Oxford. These first collaborations––organized by Chris Ferebee, along with Alistair Anderson, Andrew Arceci, and several guest musicians––led to the ensemble producing their début recording, The Oxford Sessions (Centaur Records, 2018).

"The Oxford Sessions opens with the beautifully haunting instrumental 'Drive the Cold Winter Away' (from John Playford's English Dancing Master)" - Divide & Conquer

“...gorgeous and haunting music.” - Early Music America

"If this is fusion music then 'Long Live the Protean Viol' - every home should have one!” - Viola da Gamba Society (UK)

“The playing and singing on the CD is all elegant (when required), well-balanced, and full of feeling. The musicians demonstrate not only how versatile they are as performers and composers, but also how versatile the early music they chose to perform is.” - Viola da Gamba Society of America

“…splendid music that touches various bases without overstaying its welcome in any of them. Give a listen and prepare to be enchanted.” - RootsWorld

“An exciting album that pushes boundaries, with a blend of styles that works surprisingly well.” - Folk World, Home of European Music

“The close recording balance is entirely appropriate to the music presented and is, I believe, the best single release I have heard from the Centaur label." - Fanfare Magazine
