Wintering

It grows dark earlier now. The leaves once so vibrantly yellow, red, orange against their green sibling leaves, they are falling. Everything falling. A wind rushes in, shaking those that hold on a bit too tight. A reminder to let go. Let go, let go, into this season of wintering. Trust the ground to catch you. Move inward, without fear, or with all the fear that wants to be held tenderly, accompanied only by your willingness to listen for the dance that wants to tell your story.

In a dialogue between movement, visual art and narrative making, participants will be introduced to the interdisciplinary art model and creative practice of the Life/Art Process®. You will be guided inward to the quiet dark places of retreat and rest, slowing down to sense, feel, imagine and reflect on what in you needs to be discovered, cared for, renewed and expressed into being in your life.

No art or dance experience needed. Workshops are for ages 18+ only and disability access is not provided.

To get the most out of this online class, please prepare a comfortable space to move in with access to your online device and reliable internet service. If you are using a handheld device, such as a pad or phone, please be sure to use a stand for your device so that it is held securely in place. You will want to have your hands free and be able to move freely and safely during movement exercises without worrying about your device falling. Have art supplies ready at hand for the drawing activity and paper and pen for journaling and creative writing exercises.

Please note: Tamalpa does not record nor permit the recording of any classes or workshops due to the sensitive and sometimes vulnerable nature of the work, and to protect student privacy.
