Mass Displacement and Integration: Policy Lessons from Europe

This policy event explores the challenges and lessons of mass displacement and integration in Europe. The first panel highlights the City of Zurich’s approach to reducing barriers to naturalization, focusing on how policy and science can collaborate together. The second panel revisits Europe’s handling of the 2015 displacement, examining how governments and institutions managed one of the largest migration waves in recent European history. Together, these discussions address the tension between short-term crisis management and long-term integration, offering insights for policymakers grappling with today’s displacement dynamics.
