Mars
Overview
One day, humanity will say its final words. What would you say?
After an apocalyptic event, two researchers in the Arctic Far North contemplate progress, personhood and Pushkin against the backdrop of Holst’s orchestral suite The Planets. Together they sift through their final reactions, regrets and recollections to reconcile the meaning – if any – of actions and identities in a world devoid of human context. But soothing these personal and political wounds takes a turn as the two unearth shocking conflicts and confessions.
The play runs approximately 75 minutes without intermission and features dialogue in English with a few scenes in Russian.
