Marla and the Stingers

“Rarely imitated, never duplicated” describes Marla and the Stingers, the gold standard of bassoon quartets in central Wyoming since 2001. Performing a mix of arrangements of classical favorites, popular hits, and stuff you’ve never heard, M & the S do not let an absence of literature for their ensemble stop them. Their unique blend of instruments with an annoying habit of blending with others will uncover the expressive range of the nullus oboe of the orchestra, from plaintive to playful. Richard Turner, Mala Stagg, Heather Malody, and Jackson Lippincott will give you new perspectives on classical music, and, as is always the case with bassoon-centered concerts, it’s okay to laugh.
